Hi, I’m Maggie, part-time kitchen witch and full-time fantasy author. When I’m not reviving my neglected sourdough starter or trying to convince my partner’s cat to love me too, I’m dreaming of pirates, secret places, and the soft girls who ground my stories.

My debut novel, Soulgazer, comes out this summer and I’m constantly grappling with what that means for my life. To be a traditionally published author, after 5 years of diligent pursuit and 15 of writing fanfic and RP before that.

So here we are. I want this substack to serve as an account of this journey to publication, both for myself and anyone who—like me—wants to walk this path as well. I want to share recipes I’m testing because my heart lies in the kitchen, and hobbies I pick up and abandon as I go.
